I've not read anything by Sarah Ladd before, and I've had this book for a couple of years and I'd never gotten round to reading it. However, I was flicking through my kindle yesterday and came across this book. It is a Christian regency romance, a genre I am particularly keen on, and I must say I was remarkably impressed. Ladd has a lovely voice, and 'A Stranger at Fellsworth' is a real page-turner. If you're looking for a sweet, clean romance story with a gentle Christian message, then this book is for you. Her style reminded me of writer Julie Klassen, another Christian Regency author. Sometimes I do find regency to be a little slow-paced and dialogue driven, however this book had moments of action coupled with moments of tenderness. A thoroughly enjoyable read, one which I highly recommend. and I look forward to reading more by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I always try and start a new writing project each New Year, and as soon as the kids went back to school at the beginning of January, I dusted off the keyboard and hammered out the first few chapters of my next work-in-progress. This will be a brand new series, still set in Holmorra (as with The Forgotten Kingdoms Series), but set a few hundred years later. I'm hoping to have the first draft complete around mid-February, but I will keep you all posted on my progress!
